FIT UK launch Active IQ International Qualification with GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi
FIT UK Training & Education Ltd (FIT UK) has partnered up with GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi to offer the new AIQ international recognised qualifications within the health and fitness sector to their students.
FIT UK Director of Business Development Alan Reddin said. “We are very honoured and proud to be an approved vendor for the GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi. We are very excited to introduce the new Active IQ International L2 Fitness Assistant qualification to their students aged 14+”
The L2 Fitness Assistant is an online blended learning course which can be embedded into PE lessons or as an enrichment qualification. The purpose of Level 2 Fitness Assistant is to promote health and fitness participation. The qualification will also improve students’ knowledge of physical activity and how to adopt a healthier lifestyle for themselves and influence others to do the same. This qualification is ideal for students considering either a career in the active leisure sector as Gym Instructor, Personal Trainer or for those students who want to stand out from the rest when applying for colleges, universities and future job applications.
GEMS Cambridge International School Vice Principle James Hyland said “We are trialling the course with a cohort of Year 10 learners, during their PE lessons. I really like the flexibility of the delivery and the resources provided are excellent. We are only a few weeks into the course and already I can see a huge improvement in the knowledge and confidence of the group. Some of the content crosses over with GCSE PE and it has enabled those learners doing both to consolidate their understanding and practical application. The plan is to cover module 3 in lessons over the next few weeks and then facilitate drop down days for Modules 1 and 2, towards the end of the academic year. We hope that the success of the first cohort will encourage more learners to sign up for the course, next year.”
